Tenuta San Paolo - La Storia

This wine-producing estate goes back almost one hundred years. In the first decades of 20th century Luigi Marangon started cultivating the typical grapes of that time: Riesling Italico, Bacò, Clinto, Corbinello Bassanese and Raboso Piave. Ernesto, Luigi’s son and successor, continued the tradition of producing and selling wine with passion, introducing new grape varieties and also increasing the output as well as the quality of the wines.

However the real turning point was in the seventies, when the estate management was handed down to Romeo (Luigi’s grandson and Ernesto’s son), who built up the winery as we know it today. He drew on all the time-honoured traditions and knowledge that his predecessors had passed onto him, focusing on the tending of carefully selected grapes and the ensuing winemaking process in order to boost the estate’s reputation. Helped by a team of winemaking experts, he has achieved results that speak for themselves: in fact the estate delivers an excellent quality end product. Experience combined with innovation and new technologies has played and still plays a major part in the estate’s success.

The wines are sold on both a wholesale and retail basis, directly at the winery or delivered to the customer. They are well known in many regions of Italy, although around 30% of the production is sold abroad and is especially appreciated in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.
